Use quality OEM-equivalent sensors (Bosch/Denso or genuine Volvo), avoid universal wire-in types, and don’t touch or contaminate the sensing tip. Many new sensors come pre-coated on the threads, only add anti-seize if the manufacturer specifies, and torque to spec. After fitment, clear fault codes, reset fuel trims, and perform any required relearns with a suitable scan tool (VIDA is ideal). For T8 hybrids, ensure the engine reaches normal temperature on test drives so the ECU can complete its checks.

How long do oxygen-sensors last on a 2019 XC60?
