How to replace a blown headlight bulb

Fortunately replacing a blown headlight globe in your vehicle is a simple job that can be undertaken without the need to visit a mechanics workshop. In most cases you will need to remove the various covers or weather boots to access the back of the headlight. From there it will be a case of unclipping a wire spring that holds the headlight globe in place. This will then enable you to remove the globe with the wiring attached and then unplug the headlight globe from the wiring harness.

Installation is the reverse of this process and always ensure that in the case of halogen headlight globes you don't touch the globe glass when installing. Halogen headlight globes burn at an extreme temperature so any grease or dirt that is on the lens will cause the glass to crack under heat.
