NTK - Arguably the worlds best vehicle sensors
NTK is the worlds largest supplier and maker of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) oxygen sensors. Their sensors are in most vehicles on the road today. High praise indeed. Anything that NTK produces is a high quality, reliable product that is worth spending the money on. They are now expanding their sensor range to cover other vehicle sensors like camshaft, crankshaft, MAP and ABS wheel speed sensors.
Who are NTK?
NTK is a division of NGK a Japanese spark plug manufacturer, who are a global giant when it comes to OEM spark plugs. Again, renowned for their high quality manufacturer of spark plugs that are extremely dependable and reliable. The NGK and NTK logo and branding is very similar. NGK has a red background and NTK is green. Globally NGK is changing its company name to Niterra. Spark plugs will still be under NGK and sensors under NTK.
Replacing Sensors
Next time you have a faulty oxygen sensor, replace it with an NTK oxygen sensor. There is a good chance your replacement sensor will be made by NTK in any case so the point is academic. A good tip is to compare the old sensor and the new one to see if they match as sometimes the previous mechanic may have used the wrong part. It does happen.
