The mechanically related Opel/Vauxhall Agila B workshop manual also shows a TXV mounted at the evaporator inlet. So for a 2023-registered Splash (including parallel imports or late-registered vehicles), a TX valve is relevant and fitted.
The TX valve meters liquid refrigerant into the evaporator, responding to outlet temperature and pressure to maintain the right superheat. That balance helps the Splash’s air-con cool quickly at idle, avoid evaporator icing on cooler days, and protect the compressor from slugging.
