Bosch ignition leads are constructed with the highest quality materials

When designing these ignition leads, Bosch have utilised the latest in specialised construction technology, incorporating the latest advancements in inductive core technology, for you this means increased fuel efficiency and lower missions. Compatible with both regular gasoline and also LPG engines, Bosch Super Sport ignition leads can withstand over a whopping 50,000 volts which is over 200 times as much power than what your power points at home produce.

Thanks to their durable construction, Bosch Super Sport HT leads can withstand temperatures of over 260C, living in the engine bay subjects spark plug leads to extreme temperatures, particularly for turbocharged applications and other performance projects. The durability of these spark plug wires is thanks to a well thought out construction formula put together by Bosch featuring stainless steel wire wrapped Kevlar / aramid core. Aramid and Kevlar are both types of fibre which are valued for their heat resistant and high strength characteristics. Both materials are often seen used in aerospace and military applications for explosion proof ballistic armour. Bosch spark plug cables ensure maximum voltage transfer, optimised performance and spark strength and minimum radio interference.

Your engine's ignition system is one of the vitals of your car. The delivery of spark to your cylinder head allows the fuel in the combustion chamber to ignite which in turn makes your engine run and your wheels spin. If the signal sent to your spark plugs is too weak or not sent at all, the fuel wont ignite and you'll find your engine running into misfire issues.

Why is my car misfiring? Old, worn out ignition leads are a known culprit when it comes to chasing down pesky misfires so we recommend a fresh set of leads as a great starting point when tackling sub-par running conditions. When you delve into replacing your ignition leads, it's a great idea to change some of the other ignition-related service items so that you're starting on a clean slate with a brand new ignition system. Your spark plugs should be changed regularly when you service your car, but if it’s been a while since you swapped them out then there’s no better time. Their job is to deliver the spark and ignite the fuel after the signal has been sent through the rest of the ignition system. For people driving older cars or perhaps chasing issues on their classic weekend cruiser, replacing your distributor or distributor parts including the cap, rotor and points is a great way to start tackling a misfire. For modern machines that have done away with the tradition distributor system, replacing your ignition coils and modules is a great start as these, similarly to a distributor, are the source of the signal for your engine's spark. If you're chasing running issues with your car or overhauling your ignition system, search for the parts you need using our rego search function on the Repco website, or head into your local Repco store today.
