2020 Toyota Camry clutch-kit: what’s actually fitted, and what owners should know
Based on Toyota Australia’s MY20 Camry specification sheets and Owner’s Manual, together with Toyota’s technical overviews of the Direct Shift‑8AT automatic and Toyota Hybrid System e‑CVT, a clutch‑kit is not used on the 2020 Toyota Camry. All 2020 Camry variants in Australia and New Zealand are equipped with either an 8‑speed torque‑converter automatic or a hybrid e‑CVT transaxle—neither requires a conventional manual clutch or replacement clutch‑kit.
Here’s why: a manual clutch‑kit (pressure plate, friction disc and release bearing) is specific to a manual gearbox. The 2020 Camry’s 8‑speed auto uses a torque converter and internal multi‑plate clutch packs managed hydraulically inside the transmission
