- Wiring and connectors: Under‑bonnet heat and road grime can stress plugs. Look for green corrosion, brittle insulation, or loose pins before blaming the sensor.
Most genuine sensors last years, so replacement is typically condition‑based rather than kilometre‑based. After any sensor work, clear fault codes and check live data to confirm the Splash is reading sensible temperatures from cold start to fully warm.
