Where is the engine coolant temperature sensor on a 2013 Lexus IS?
It’s threaded into the engine’s coolant passage near the thermostat/water outlet. On the V6, access is from the top once the engine cover and intake ducting are out of the way. Let the car cool, relieve pressure, swap the sensor with a new seal, torque to spec, then top up and bleed the cooling system. Check fan operation and confirm the ECT reading with a scan tool.
