Avoid “universal” caps that don’t state Commodore compatibility. If the vehicle is an LPG model, note the LPG filler uses a different cap to the petrol tank.
Typical signs it’s time to replace the cap include a persistent fuel smell around the rear quarter, difficulty getting the cap to click, visible cracking on the seal, or an EVAP-related warning that persists after re-tightening.
