Centre Bearing on the 2010 Suzuki Splash
When it comes to the 2010 Suzuki Splash, the question of whether it features a centre bearing is an interesting one. Based on technical sources and workshop manuals, the 2010 Suzuki Splash does not use a centre bearing in its driveshaft assembly. This is primarily because of the vehicle's drivetrain setup and design.
The Suzuki Splash is a compact hatchback designed with a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout. Typically, in vehicles like this, the drivetrain consists of a transaxle with two half-shafts (drive shafts) that connect directly from the transmission to the front wheels, with no long driveshaft running towards the rear of the vehicle. As a result, there is no long propeller shaft as found on rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive cars. Centre bearings are usually fitted on these long driveshafts to support the shaft at its midpoint, reduce vibration, and stabilise rotation.
Since the 2010 Suzuki Splash only has relatively short half-shafts which do not require intermediate support, there is no necessity for a centre bearing. This simplifies the drivetrain assembly, reduces maintenance points, and potentially improves reliability because there are fewer moving parts involved.
Vehicles that do require centre bearings tend to have longer driveshafts running underneath the car from front to rear, and the centre bearing plays an important role in supporting these shafts as they spin at high speed. The Suzuki Splash's short half-shafts eliminate the requirement for such a component. For this reason, any mention of centre bearing servicing or replacement would not apply in this case.
