2007 Toyota Aurion Head Gasket

Based on Toyota’s own technical literature—the Aurion GSV40/41 series Repair Manual, the 2GR‑FE Engine Repair Manual, and the Toyota Electronic Parts Catalogue—the 2007 Toyota Aurion (3.5‑litre 2GR‑FE V6) is fitted with head gaskets. In fact, being a V6, it uses two multi‑layer steel (MLS) head gaskets, one for each cylinder bank.

On this Aurion, the head gasket’s job is to seal the combustion chambers while keeping engine oil and coolant in their correct passages under the cylinder heads. That seal has to survive big temperature swings, high cylinder pressures and years of daily driving. The factory MLS design is robust when the cooling system is kept in good nick and the engine isn’t overheated.
