2007 Honda CR‑V Pedal Pads — What They Do and When to Replace Them

Based on Honda’s technical literature — the 2007–2011 Honda CR‑V Service Manual (Brakes > Pedal) and the Honda electronic parts catalogue — this model is fitted with replaceable rubber pedal pads on the brake pedal, and on the clutch pedal for manual-transmission variants. The accelerator pedal uses an integral plastic tread, so there’s no separate removable pad on the throttle.

On a 2007 Honda CR‑V, pedal pads are simple but important safety parts. The rubber face gives the driver reliable grip in the wet, helps reduce foot fatigue on longer drives, and protects the metal pedal arm from wear. When the pad hardens, cracks or goes smooth and shiny, grip drops off — that’s when it’s time to swap it out.

As part of routine servicing, it’s smart to check the brake (and clutch, if fitted) pedal pad condition. A quick visual once-over takes seconds and can prevent a slippery moment. If the pad surface is glazed, missing chunks, or feels hard as plastic, replacement is due. Many roadworthy and WOF inspections will ping a car for excessively worn pedal rubbers, so keeping them tidy can also save a recheck.

  • Signs it’s worn: smooth or shiny surface, visible cracks or splits, edges curling, or your foot slipping — especially with wet soles.
  • Care tips: clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush
