Often, yes. A lift changes suspension geometry and shock stroke. Extended bump-stops can prevent the shocks and CVs (front) from hitting their mechanical limits at full compression. Match the stop length to your shock and tyre package so you don’t lose useful travel.
Are polyurethane bump-stops better than OEM rubber?
They’re tougher and more resistant to oil and ageing, which is great for off-road and heavy loads. Rubber typically feels a touch softer at first contact. Choose based on how you use the ute: touring and towing often benefit from poly, daily stock-height setups are well served by OEM rubber.
Can worn bump-stops cause a WOF/roadworthy fail?
