A light smear of clean engine oil on the O-ring helps the new one seat nicely, nip the bolt to about 8 Nm (small M6 fastener—don’t overcook it). If the Fiesta is one of the last Endura-E 1.3-litre cars (late Mk5), there’s no separate cam sensor because the system uses a crank sensor with wasted-spark and batch injection, so the ECU doesn’t need camshaft phase input for basic operation. For all 2002 Mk6 models, though, the cam sensor is absolutely part of normal servicing and fault diagnosis.
