2000 Toyota Caldina manifold gasket

Referencing Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) and factory repair manuals available via Toyota’s Technical Information System (TIS), the 2000 Toyota Caldina (T21 series) uses manifold gaskets on every engine variant, including 7A-FE, 3S-FE, 3S-GE and turbocharged 3S-GTE. Both intake and exhaust manifold gaskets are specified as service parts, so a manifold-gasket is absolutely relevant to this vehicle.

On a 2000 Caldina, the manifold gaskets seal the mating surfaces between the cylinder head and the manifolds. The intake manifold gasket keeps unmetered air out so the engine doesn’t run lean, helping drivability, fuel economy and cold starts. The exhaust manifold gasket contains hot gases, preventing that sharp ticking under load, soot around the flange and the risk of cooking nearby components. On turbo GT-T models, a healthy seal is even more critical to spool and boost control.

These gaskets aren’t a scheduled replacement item, but they’re a “replace-when-disturbed” part. If the intake or exhaust manifold comes off for any reason—say, a turbo pull on a 3S-GTE, EGR work, or head service—fit new gaskets. Genuine or quality aftermarket multi-layer steel or graphite/composite types both do the job
