1991 Suzuki Swift power-steering pump — is it actually there?
For most Australian and New Zealand–delivered 1991 Suzuki Swifts (and their twin, the Holden Barina MF/MH), a hydraulic power-steering pump wasn’t fitted from factory. Why no pump? The 1991 Swift is a light hatch, and with modest tyre widths the steering effort at parking speeds stays manageable. Fewer hoses, no fluid, and a simpler rack also meant less to maintain — a win for long-term ownership and fuel economy.
