Repco RCJS1200 12V 1200A Sealed AGM Battery Jump Starter: Compact, Safe, and Reliable
The Repco RCJS1200 is a smartly designed, portable jump starter that brings reliable power and safety features packed into a compact and lightweight unit. Perfect for those who want a user-friendly jump starter that can handle a wide range of small to medium petrol engines, it combines solid performance with practical convenience.
Designed to Fit Your Vehicle and Your Life
Unlike the bulky and heavy jump starters you might have seen, the RCJS1200 can be neatly stored in your car’s boot or luggage compartment. It comes with its own battery leads and a protective carry bag, making it easy to tote around so you’re always ready when you need a battery boost. The unit uses a sealed AGM (absorbed glass mat) battery, so if it does tip over, there’s no risk of spilling acid in your vehicle, keeping everything clean and safe.
Powerful Enough for Everyday Vehicles
This jump starter delivers up to 1200 amps, which is suitable for petrol engines up to 3.5 litres, motorcycles, and ATVs. It strikes an excellent balance of power and portability for everyday drivers, especially those with smaller and mid-sized vehicles. For more demanding engines, Repco also offers larger units like the RCJS1700 for petrol and diesel engines.
Safety First
Jump starting a car can seem intimidating, but the RCJS1200 is designed with safety in mind. It features MOSFET technology that protects against short circuits, reverse polarity, power surges, sparking, and even alerts if connected to a 24-volt battery system which could otherwise cause damage. It also has an intelligent low voltage alarm that sounds when the internal battery drops below 60%, so you never get caught out with a dead jump starter.
More Than Just a Jump Starter
The RCJS1200 also doubles as a power bank with two 2.4 amp USB ports. Whether you’re camping or stuck roadside with a flat phone battery, you can charge almost any USB-powered device. It’s the kind of convenience that makes it more than just a jump starter—it's a versatile tool for modern life.
Simple to Recharge and Maintain
Once the jump starter needs recharging, just plug it into any standard 240V outlet at home or the workshop. The built-in 0.8 amp three-stage smart charger manages the charge safely and efficiently, keeping the battery topped up and ready for your next emergency. Regular charging extends the lifespan and reliability of your jump starter.
Usage Tips
- Always connect the red clamp to the positive terminal first, then attach the black clamp to a solid metal grounded part of the vehicle, avoiding the negative battery terminal directly to reduce spark risks.
- Do not crank the engine for longer than 5 seconds at a time, wait one minute between attempts.
- Recharge your jump starter promptly after use and store it in a dry place for best results.
