Car Engine parts from Rare Spares

The most frustrating part when buying a project classic that someone has disassembled is making sure all fasteners are there. It is hard enough making sure all the parts are there let alone the small nuts, bolts and screws you need to assemble it. Rare Spares make certain kits for Holdens and Fords that make this really simple. You get the correct fasteners to do that job. Some of the kits come with mounting brackets to suit the component being mounted, like an alternator or power steering pump.

The second part to this is gaskets. Having the correct gasket makes installing parts on your engine so much easier and it is cut correctly to fit the part. Gaskets also make disassembly simple as you are not trying to peel off form-a-gasket residue. Engine gasket kits are a good investment if you intend to hang onto your classic and do some of the work yourself.

Leaking Rocker Cover?

They do a good range of rocker covers and their gaskets as they are a common source for oil leaks in older engines. Overtightened bolts is normally the cause as it distorts the sheet metal pan rail. Sometimes it may be worth replacing the rocker cover with a new reproduction unit. Look at the PCV set up on your cover as this may need replacing as well.

Leaky Welsh Plug?

Welsh plug kits are another good idea. Having them altogether helps as you can use it like a checklist on what you need to replace and it makes sure you don't miss any. Leaky welsh plugs are annoying and hard to get at once an engine is reinstalled in the car.

Rare Spares Engine section covers Ford, Holden, Chrysler, Nissan and has some components that are universal. If engine maladies are impacting your classic, they will have the parts to sort it out for you. Repco has a great range of engine as well as engine bay, fuel & exhaust and cooling system parts from Rare Spares. See the range online and remember we don't hold stock so if urgent, please check with your local Repco store for availability before ordering. Orders are processed through your local Repco store.
