4Terrain Ultimate has nearly 70 years of experience manufacturing the toughest clutches for Australia's uniquely unrelenting outback.

If you're after specialised clutches built for off-road performance and tackling rough terrain, then you can't go past 4Terrain. Use by defence forces the world over, 4Terrain Ultimate is Clutch Industries' toughest range of clutches, with a higher torque capacity that is suited for the harshest environments you can put your 4x4 through.

For serious off-road vehicles that are going to see craggy inclines, marshy wetlands, and thick mud, you'll want to have 4Terrain Ultimate's patented ER2 Groove Design technology boosting your 4x4's off-road abilities.

The cover assembly uses corrosion resistant surface finish to protect it from rusting as well a pressure plate built from Spheroidal Graphite for a yield strength 300% high than standard castings. The microstructure of the assembly also means you'll get better heat dispersion, and the assembly offers extra torque thanks to a greater clamp load.

The clutch disc also uses Aramid friction material which reduces the amount of wear by 50% compared to standard clutch discs, as well as allowing the clutch to transmit torque at much higher temperatures without failing.

4Terrain Clutch Kits

4Terrain Ultimate clutch kits also come with a 3 year or 50,000km warranty, which ever comes first, giving you the confidence to really push your fourbie to its limits when you take her off-road.

Clutch Industries has close to 70 years of experience when it comes to developing and manufacturing automotive parts, building innovative clutch systems right here in Australia. Their clutches aren't just for brutal off-road adventures either, Repco also stocks the Mantic Clutch range, which has street and sport variants for high-performance vehicles on and off the racetrack.

Popular Questions Asked

What is a Clutch Kit?

A clutch kit is a collection of parts that you can use to fix a clutch that has broken or fallen into disrepair or to upgrade your assembly. 4Terrain Ultimate Clutch Kits generally come with a cover assembly, clutch disc, and release bearing, with some clutch kits having a solid replacement flywheel or DMR as well.

Is a Heavy-Duty Clutch Worth it?

If you're just using your car to pick up the kids from school and get groceries on the weekend, then a heavy-duty clutch likely isn't for you. For any serious off-roader who needs to tackle challenging terrain or has made modifications to their 4x4, a 4Terrain Ultimate Clutch Kit is going to give you the extra torque, power, and longevity you need.

What is the Toughest Clutch Material?

Aramid, also known as Kevlar due to the brand using the material for the first bullet-proof vests, is the strongest material used in the production of clutches. This is the material that 4Terrain Ultimate Clutches use and it's the same material used for ballistic-rated body armour, marine hull reinforcement, and in various aerospace and military applications.
