Cooling system failure can lead to catastrophic engine damage leaving you stranded on the side of the road. Radiator caps are one of the first steps you should take in diagnosing cooling issues.

These are all signs of your radiator cap needing to be replaced.
When doing any work on your cooling system, we recommend replacing any parts that are easily accessible when working in that area or replacing any parts that may be contributing to blockages and corrosion. This saves you time and money in the future. Start by giving your cooling system a good flush which helps get rid of built up gunk. Your thermostat also helps regulate coolant temperate alongside your cap. If youre experiencing over heating issues, replacing both of these is important. Hoses degrade over time and can often be a victim of pressure issues, check your coolant hoses for any damage or wear and tear and replace if needed. You've checked your hoses and your thermostat, changed your radiator cap. If you've lost any coolant make sure you top it up before getting back on the road!
