SSHH1619LS Silicone Heater Core Bypass Loop Crossover LS Engine The SAAS LS heater bypass is a low profile loop manufactured from our multi ply reinforced silicone hose. The Heater Bypass Loop will install on any LS family engine (LS1 LT1 LQ9 etc) and comes designed with 16mm (5/8") and 19mm (3/4") supply and return ports. Using a loop instead of blocking off the ports maintains engine coolant flow and reduces the risks of air pockets forming that can lead to overheating. The LS family of engines are a popular customisation and if you wish to isolate the heater the SAAS SSH1619LS is the perfect hose to use.Fitting Notes: By nature silicone coolant hoses have a higher degree of permeability than conventional EPDM rubber. We aim to mitigate this by deploying a flurosilicone liner but regular checks of your cooling system are always advised. Note also that some modern long life coolants can use aggressive chemicals particularly the use of 2-ethylhexanoic acid which can be abbreviated as 2-EHA. SAAS recommends the use of Inorganic Acid Technology (IAT) - often green or yellow in colour - or modern Hybrid OAT (HOAT/Si-HOAT) coolants. Look for coolants that do not use 2-EHA.
