Tridon Heater Fan Resistor - TFR176

The Heater Fan Resistor is used to control the speed of the heater or A/C fan. There are 2 common style of heater fan resistors, a resistor pack consisting of wound wires varying in gauge (early type) and later designs using transistors on printed circuit boards. The resistor normally located close to the fan assembly. The heater fan resistor is a common failure point within the heating and air conditioning system. Most failures are a as a result of excessive heat, over time from the resistor components. Loss of one or two, or all fan speeds could indicate a faulty or damaged heater fan resistor. As heater fan resistor specifications vary, always refer to the vehicle application list to ensure correct part number selection.
