2022 Toyota C‑HR headlight bulbs
For the 2022 Toyota C‑HR, traditional headlight bulbs aren’t a thing. Toyota equips this model with factory LED headlamp units that have the light source built into a sealed assembly. The Toyota C‑HR Owner’s Manual for this model year (Australia/New Zealand edition) notes that vehicles with LED headlights do not have serviceable bulbs and that headlight components should be replaced by an authorised Toyota dealer if they fail. Toyota’s genuine parts catalogues likewise list the headlamp as a complete LED assembly rather than a bulb-and-holder setup. So, headlight “bulbs” aren’t used or replaced on this vehicle.
Why no bulbs? LED headlamps offer better energy efficiency, crisp light output, and long service life compared with halogen bulbs. Because the LEDs, heat sinks, optics and control electronics are engineered to work together, the unit is sealed for performance and durability. That’s why the headlight isn’t opened up for a quick bulb swap—if a diode or driver fails, the correct fix is replacement of the entire headlamp assembly.
What can owners do? There’s still some simple care that keeps the C‑HR’s headlights in top nick:
- Keep the lenses clean with mild car shampoo and water—avoid harsh solvents and abrasive pads.
- Don’t blast the headlamp seals with a pressure washer.
- Check headlight aim after suspension or tyre changes, or if you notice poor cut‑off. Have a workshop adjust if needed.
- A little misting inside after wet weather can be normal
