2022 Subaru XV headlight bulbs: what’s fitted and how to look after them
Based on Subaru’s MY22 XV Owner’s Manual, Subaru Australia/NZ model specifications, and genuine parts listings, the 2022 Subaru XV was offered with two headlight types: halogen headlights on lower trims (which use replaceable bulbs) and LED headlights on higher trims (which don’t use conventional “bulbs”). That means headlight bulbs are relevant for halogen-equipped XV variants, while LED-equipped versions use sealed LED units/modules serviced as assemblies.
For halogen XV models, the low beam typically uses an H11 bulb and the high beam an HB3 (9005). These bulbs provide dependable illumination and are easy to replace when they age or fail. The purpose is simple: safe, ADR/WOF-compliant light output for night and poor-weather driving, with a light pattern matched to the XV’s reflectors/projectors.
When it’s time to service or replace the headlight bulbs, a few smart habits go a long way:
