2022 Ford Fiesta centre-bearing: what’s actually fitted

For the 2022 Ford Fiesta, a centre-bearing (centre support bearing on a multi-piece tailshaft) isn’t used or relevant. Technical sources including the Ford Fiesta Workshop Manual for the 2018–2023 generation (front drive halfshafts section), Ford’s Electronic Parts Catalogue (Fiesta Mk8), and 2022 model specifications consistently show the Fiesta is a transverse-engine, front-wheel-drive hatch with no propeller shaft running the length of the vehicle. A centre-bearing is a part found on rear- or all-wheel-drive vehicles with a long, two-piece tailshaft — not on this layout.

What the 2022 Fiesta does have are front CV drive shafts. On some engine/gearbox combos there’s a short right-hand intermediate shaft that can include a bracket-mounted support bearing on the engine block. That bearing is not a tailshaft centre-bearing
