2021 Honda CR‑V and clutch kits: what’s the go?

The 2021 Honda CR‑V doesn’t use a traditional clutch kit. Across Australian and New Zealand new-vehicle listings for that model year, the CR‑V is fitted with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on petrol variants, and in some markets an e‑CVT hybrid system. Neither setup uses the manual gearbox clutch assembly (pressure plate, friction disc and release bearing) that a clutch kit normally replaces. This aligns with Honda’s 2021 CR‑V Owner’s Guide and local specification sheets, which list CVT/e‑CVT only and no manual gearbox option.

On the petrol CR‑V, Honda’s CVT pairs a belt-and-pulley unit with a torque converter that provides smooth take‑off. There’s no driver‑operated friction clutch, so there’s no clutch kit to service or replace. On hybrid versions using Honda’s i‑MMD e‑CVT, drive is primarily electric with a fixed gearset
