2020 Toyota Land Cruiser wheel hubs

Wheel hubs are absolutely fitted to the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser (J200 series). Technical references including Toyota’s Land Cruiser 200 Series Repair Manual, New Car Features (NCF) and the Toyota Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) list front hub and bearing assemblies with integrated ABS encoder rings, and a rear axle hub arrangement with serviceable bearings and seals. This model runs full-time 4WD and does not use manual free-wheeling/locking hubs from factory.

On a 2020 Land Cruiser, the wheel hubs do the hard yakka of supporting the wheels, letting them spin freely, and keeping everything in line with the brakes, suspension and driveline. Up front, the hub and bearing assembly is a sealed, bolt-on unit that carries the wheel, rotor and ABS signal. Down the back, the solid-axle hub supports the wheel on tapered roller bearings and keeps contaminants out with dedicated seals. Together, they’re vital for straight tracking, quiet running, sharp braking and accurate stability control.

As part of routine servicing, it’s smart to have the hubs and bearings checked whenever tyres are rotated, brakes are replaced, or every 20,000–40,000 kilometres if the vehicle sees towing, corrugations or water crossings. A quick spin-and-feel test, play check at 12 and 6 o’clock, and a listen for rumble on road test can catch issues early.

  • Common signs they’re tired: a humming or growl that rises with speed, ABS or VSC lights from a dodgy encoder/sensor signal, warmth or discolouration at the hub, slight wander, or uneven tyre wear.
  • Front hub/bearing: replace as a complete assembly if noisy or loose
