Parts for your 2020 Subaru Impreza-Clutch kit
Is a clutch kit used on the 2020 Subaru Impreza in Australia and New Zealand?
Short answer: a traditional clutch kit is not relevant for the mainstream 2020 Subaru Impreza sold in Australia and New Zealand. Technical documentation from Subaru Australia’s MY20 Impreza specifications, Subaru New Zealand model information, and the Subaru factory service manual for the GK/GT Impreza (MY17–MY21) confirm that local 2020 vehicles are fitted with the Lineartronic CVT (TR580). The CVT uses a torque converter and variator rather than a conventional manual clutch disc, pressure plate, and release bearing. Subaru’s FAST parts catalogue likewise shows no serviceable “clutch kit” for CVT VIN ranges, reinforcing that a clutch kit does not apply to typical AU/NZ 2020 Impreza models.
Why there’s no clutch kit: the TR580 Lineartronic CVT couples the engine via a fluid torque converter for take-off and manages ratio changes with a steel belt and variable pulleys. While the transmission contains internal multi-plate clutch packs for forward/reverse selection, these are integral components inside the CVT and are not replaced as a separate clutch kit during routine servicing. By contrast, some markets offered a 5-speed manual Impreza in 2020, which does use a conventional clutch kit
