2019 Toyota Mark X tail-lights
Based on technical sources, tail-lights are fitted and fully relevant to the 2019 Toyota Mark X (GRX130). Toyota’s owner’s manual and parts catalog for late-model Mark X list rear combination lamps with LED tail/stop functions, and the 2019 “Final Edition” press materials confirm LED rear lighting. As an imported passenger car, it also requires rear position lamps under ADR 13/00 and equivalent ECE R48, so tail-lights are standard equipment.
The 2019 Toyota Mark X runs sleek rear combination lamps that house the tail, stop, indicator and reverse functions. On these late models, the tail and brake are LED for crisp light and long service life, while the reverse lamp may be a replaceable incandescent bulb on some trims. The purpose is simple but critical: tail-lights make the car visible from behind in low light, at dusk, in rain or fog, and they signal braking and direction changes clearly to everyone else on the road.
For owners servicing a 2019 Mark X, tail-light care is mostly about checks and tidy preventative work. Look for cracks, hazing, or moisture inside the lens. A bit of condensation after a wash can be normal, but pooled water or persistent fogging points to a failed seal or a cracked housing. Make sure the harness plug is snug and the grommet and foam gasket sit properly against the body to keep dust and water out.
If a replaceable bulb has blown (often the reverse globe), stick with the specification in the owner’s manual. If choosing an LED retrofit for a bulb socket, ensure it’s road-legal and doesn’t throw errors or cause hyper-flash. Where an LED board fails, the usual fix is replacing the whole lamp assembly, as the LED module is integrated. After any replacement, test tail, brake, indicator and reverse functions with the headlights on and the brake applied.
- Switch off the ignition and lights, open the boot, and remove the inner trim clips near the lamp.
- Unplug the connector
