2018 Toyota Wish driveshafts
Based on Toyota’s own technical documentation — including the Toyota Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) for ZGE20/ZGE25 series and the Drivetrain/Axle (AX) section of the workshop manual — the 2018 Toyota Wish is fitted with driveshafts. Typical NZ and AU-delivered examples are front‑wheel drive and use two front constant‑velocity (CV) driveshafts connecting the transaxle to the front hubs. Certain market variants list an on‑demand 4WD layout, which adds a propeller shaft and rear drive shafts, but the front CV shafts are common across the range.
On this model, the driveshafts do the heavy lifting of carrying engine torque from the CVT transaxle to the wheels while allowing for steering angle and suspension travel. Each shaft uses inner and outer CV joints to keep things smooth — no binding, no shudder — so the Wish feels settled in city traffic and on the open road. When the CV joints and boots are healthy, acceleration is silky and there’s minimal vibration through the cabin.
There’s no fixed replacement interval for driveshafts on a 2018 Wish
