2018 Toyota Mark X Pedal Pads

Based on Toyota’s technical documentation, pedal pads are used on the 2018 Toyota Mark X (GRX130/135). The Toyota Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) for the GRX130/135 lists a replaceable “Pad, Brake Pedal” on all grades, and a “Pad, Clutch Pedal” on manual-transmission variants. The Toyota Repair Manual (Brake Pedal section) also specifies inspection criteria for the pedal pad. The accelerator pedal is an integrated electronic/resin assembly and does not use a separate removable pad.

On a 2018 Toyota Mark X, the pedal pads are the small but vital rubber covers that cap the brake pedal—and the clutch pedal on manual models. Their job is simple: keep the driver’s foot planted. The textured rubber boosts grip in the wet, adds a bit of comfort, dampens vibration and shields the metal pedal face from wear. Because they’re consumable, the rubber gradually hardens, polishes smooth or cracks with age, heat and grit underfoot.

Best practice is to give the pedal pads a quick once-over at each service or every 10,000–15,000 km. If the surface has gone shiny, edges are torn, the pad has twisted on the pedal, or there’s any glimpse of metal, it’s time to swap it. On autos, it’s just the brake pad
