2018 Toyota LandCruiser exterior bulbs — what they do and how to look after them
Per Toyota’s 2018 LandCruiser 200 Series Owner’s Manual and Toyota repair literature, the vehicle uses a mix of halogen and LED exterior lighting. That means exterior bulbs are absolutely fitted and considered normal service items. These lamps handle everything from night-time visibility to signalling and making the vehicle compliant with local road rules (ADR/NZTA), so keeping them in top nick matters.
The purpose is straightforward: see and be seen. Headlamps and fogs light the way, while indicators, stop/tail, reverse and number plate bulbs tell everyone else what’s going on. On most 2018 LandCruiser grades, some positions are traditional replaceable bulbs and others are LED modules. LEDs generally last longer but may be sealed, so the whole lamp or module is replaced rather than a simple globe swap.
Exact specs vary by grade and market, so it’s smart to verify against the owner’s manual. Common replaceable bulb types you’ll find on many 200 Series include:
- Headlight high beam: HB3/9005 halogen (many grades)
- Front fog lamp: H11 halogen (some models)
