2018 Toyota Camry clutch kit — is it relevant?

For the 2018 Toyota Camry (XV70) sold in Australia and New Zealand, a clutch kit is not a relevant part. All local 2018 Camry petrol models use Toyota’s Direct Shift 8-speed automatic, and Hybrid variants use Toyota’s e‑CVT hybrid transaxle. No factory manual transmission was offered, so there’s no driver‑operated friction clutch to replace. This configuration is documented in Toyota Australia’s 2018 Camry specifications and owner’s manual, as well as Toyota technical materials describing the Direct Shift‑8AT and Toyota Hybrid System.

Why there’s no clutch kit: a conventional clutch kit (pressure plate, friction disc, release bearing) is only fitted to manual gearboxes. The 8‑speed automatic uses a torque converter and internal multi‑plate clutch packs managed hydraulically—these are not serviced as a “clutch kit”. The Hybrid’s e‑CVT uses a planetary power‑split with motor‑generators and typically doesn’t use a serviceable friction clutch at all. Because of that, shops won’t quote a clutch replacement for a 2018 Camry
