2018 Mitsubishi ASX Headlights
Headlights are absolutely fitted to the 2018 Mitsubishi ASX. This is confirmed by the ASX owner’s manual and Mitsubishi service literature for the model year, and aligns with legal requirements under Australia’s ADR 13/00 (lighting installation) and New Zealand’s Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting 2004, which mandate operational headlamps for road use.
On the 2018 ASX, the headlights serve the classic dual role: helping the driver see clearly at night and in poor weather, and making the vehicle visible to others. Most examples run halogen projector low beams with integrated daytime running lamps, with market and trim variations. Regardless of variant, properly maintained headlights are key to safe, comfortable driving and to passing routine inspections, rego checks, or a WOF.
As part of regular servicing, it’s smart to include a quick headlight check. Look for dimming, colour shift, or intermittent operation—signs a bulb is on the way out. Replace bulbs in pairs to keep brightness and colour consistent across both sides. When swapping halogen globes, avoid touching the glass
