2016 Toyota Crown headlight bulbs — not a thing here
For the 2016 Toyota Crown (S210 series Royal, Athlete and Majesta), conventional headlight bulbs aren’t used for the low and high beams. Toyota’s own technical literature confirms this: the Crown’s factory headlamps are Bi‑Beam LED units with an integrated driver and heat sink, supplied as a complete headlamp assembly. The Toyota Repair Manual for the S210 Lighting section describes the unit as an “LED headlight assembly” with no serviceable bulb elements, and the Toyota Electronic Parts Catalog lists the full headlamp assemblies (e.g., 81110‑xxxxx/81150‑xxxxx) rather than separate low‑ or high‑beam bulbs. The Owner’s Manual for this model year also notes that if an LED headlight stops working, owners should have the vehicle inspected by a Toyota dealer, as the LED light source is not user‑replaceable.
Why no bulbs? LED headlamps in the Crown handle low and high beam within a sealed projector using a mechanical shutter (“Bi‑Beam”), and the LEDs are thermally managed with heat sinks and a dedicated control module. That design locks in optical alignment and keeps moisture out, improving reliability and beam quality. It also meets lighting performance and compliance targets without the variability that comes with removable bulbs.
