2016 Ford Transit headlights: purpose, care, and replacement
Headlights are absolutely fitted to and relevant for the 2016 Ford Transit. Technical references including the Ford Transit 2016 Owner’s Manual (Lighting and Bulb Replacement sections) and Ford Workshop Manual (Exterior Lighting) specify headlamp assemblies and bulb specifications as standard equipment. Regulatory requirements back this up: Australian Design Rule 13/00 (Installation of Lighting and Light-signalling Devices) and New Zealand’s Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting 2004 both mandate compliant low- and high-beam headlamps on road-going vehicles. Put simply, the 2016 Transit rolls out of the factory with headlights and can’t be legally operated at night without them.
On a 2016 Transit, the headlights do the heavy lifting after dark and in poor weather—projecting a controlled beam that preserves forward visibility without dazzling oncoming traffic. They also improve daytime conspicuity when used as daytime running lights (where fitted) or when drivers choose to travel with low beam on in rain, fog, or low light. Most 2016 Transit variants sold locally use halogen bulbs
