2015 Toyota Land Cruiser Headlights
Headlights are very much fitted and relevant on the 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser. Technical sources including the Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series (2015) Owner’s Manual, Toyota Repair Manual, and regional regulations such as ADR 13/00 (AU) and the NZTA Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual all confirm that this model is factory-equipped with headlights and that compliant, functioning lamps are required for road use. Depending on grade and build date, the 2015 Land Cruiser 200 uses halogen (commonly H11 low beam and HB3/9005 high beam on GX/GXL), HID/Xenon low beam with halogen high beam on many VX/Sahara vehicles, and late-2015 updates in some markets introduced LED low beams on upper trims. Always verify against the vehicle’s VIN label and owner’s manual.
The purpose of the headlights on a Land Cruiser is straightforward: provide safe forward illumination and conspicuity at night and in poor weather, while managing glare for oncoming traffic. On higher trims, features like projector optics, auto-levelling and (in some models) adaptive front lighting improve beam focus and spread—handy for outback runs and rural NZ highways.
For servicing, the advice is to keep things simple and consistent. Inspect lenses at each service interval (or at least annually). UV haze or yellowing can be carefully restored with plastic-safe kits, but cracked lenses or failed seals usually call for replacement assemblies. Check beam aim whenever suspension height changes (lift kits, worn shocks), after front-end repairs, or if towing heavy loads. Use the manual levelling dial if fitted
