2015 Honda Odyssey pedal-pads — fitment, purpose and easy servicing tips

Pedal-pads absolutely are used on the 2015 Honda Odyssey. Technical references such as Honda’s Electronic Parts Catalogue and service literature for the 2014–2017 Odyssey list a replaceable rubber brake pedal pad (often referenced under Honda part families like 46545‑SA5‑000 or superseding numbers). Models with the foot-operated parking brake also use a rubber pad on that pedal. The accelerator on this generation is typically an integrated plastic tread and isn’t a separate “pad”. So, for the 2015 Odyssey, “pedal-pads” are relevant to the brake pedal and the parking brake pedal.

What do they do? These rubber pads provide grip between the driver’s shoe and the pedal, especially in the wet. Good pedal friction shortens reaction time, helps avoid slips, and keeps pedal feel consistent. Over time, rubber hardens, smooths out, or cracks — and when that happens, the risk of a foot slipping goes up, particularly with wet boots or jandals/thongs.

As part of routine servicing, it’s smart to inspect the pedal-pads every 10,000–15,000 km (or at each service visit). Look for glazing (shiny smooth surface), cracking, chunks missing at the edges, or a pad that’s gone hard. If the brake pedal face feels slippery or the pad no longer shows its original texture, it’s time to replace.

  • Typical signs it’s due: shiny/slick surface, visible splits, pad lifting off the pedal plate, reduced thickness, or your foot slipping under light moisture.
  • Parking brake pedal: check the left-foot parking brake pad as well
