2014 Subaru Impreza Fuel Injectors — What They Do and How to Look After Them
Fuel injectors are absolutely fitted to the 2014 Subaru Impreza. Referencing Subaru’s factory service information for the GJ/GP Impreza (2012–2016) with the 2.0‑litre FB20 engine, the fuel system is Sequential Multi‑Port Fuel Injection (SFI), with four electronically controlled injectors delivering petrol to each intake port. The Subaru service manual’s Fuel Injection (FI) section, the 2014 Owner’s Manual notes on emission control, and emissions certification data all confirm multi‑point port injection for this model year.
On this Impreza, the injectors meter and atomise petrol into a fine mist right at the intake ports so the ECU can precisely control air–fuel ratio for smooth idle, good economy, and clean emissions. Because it’s port injection (not direct injection), the tips sit upstream of the valves, which also helps keep intake valves cleaner than on many DI engines.
