Per Nissan’s technical literature—2014 Pathfinder Owner’s Manual and the R52 Service Manual (PG: Power Supply, SC: Starting/Charging)—this model is fitted with a 12‑volt lead‑acid battery to power cranking and vehicle electrics. The 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid also carries a high‑voltage lithium‑ion traction battery in addition to the standard 12‑volt unit. So, batteries are absolutely relevant to this vehicle.
The 12‑volt battery handles the essentials: starting the V6 or hybrid petrol engine, stabilising voltage, and keeping everything from the ECU to the stereo and interior lights happy.
