Proper torque during installation is crucial too, as overtightening can damage the threads, and undertightening can lead to poor heat transfer and eventual plug failure.

Many mechanics also advise inspecting for unusual wear patterns or deposits on spark plugs, as these can be clues about how the engine is running and point to potential issues such as oil leaks, fuel mix problems, or cooling system faults. Keeping an eye on spark plug condition every service ensures the engine is running cleanly and efficiently.
