2012 Toyota Avensis coolant — what it does and how to look after it

Coolant is absolutely relevant and used on every 2012 Toyota Avensis engine variant (petrol and diesel). Toyota’s 2012 Avensis Owner’s Manual and Toyota service literature specify Toyota Genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC, pink, pre-mixed) for the cooling system, with long-life replacement intervals. In the Avensis, coolant does far more than stop the engine from overheating.
