2010 Toyota bB Suspension Bushes: What They Do and When to Replace

Suspension bushes are absolutely used on the 2010 Toyota bB (QNC20/QNC21 series). Toyota technical material, including the front and rear suspension sections in Toyota’s service information (TIS) and the Toyota Electronic Parts Catalogue for the QNC20 platform, list multiple bushes: front lower control arm bushes, front stabiliser (sway bar) bushes, rear torsion-beam/trailing arm bushes, and strut mount insulators. These rubber components isolate vibration, control geometry, and keep the bB’s ride quiet and predictable.

On the road, the bushes let the suspension arms move smoothly while soaking up harshness from bumps and corrugations common on Aussie and Kiwi roads. As they age, the rubber can crack, harden or separate from its sleeve. That leads to clunks, vagueness in the steering, and uneven tyre wear. On the bB’s torsion-beam rear end, tired beam/trailing arm bushes can cause a “rear steer” feel over bumps and crosswinds. Up front, worn lower control arm bushes can add shimmy under braking and tramlining.
