2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Headlights
Headlights are absolutely relevant and standard on the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer (CJ series). Mitsubishi’s service information for the CJ Lancer and applicable Australian Design Rules (ADR 13/00 and 46/00) require compliant front lighting, so every 2010 Lancer is built with headlamps suitable for on-road use in Australia and New Zealand.
On this model, the headlights do the heavy lifting for night-time and poor-weather visibility, helping the driver see the road ahead and making the vehicle visible to others. Most 2010 Lancers in AU/NZ run halogen bulbs (typically H11 low beam and HB3/9005 high beam). Some higher trims or performance variants may have projector units or factory HID/Xenon for low beam—owners should confirm bulb types via the owner’s manual or the build specification.
As part of regular servicing, it’s smart to give the headlights a once-over. Check beam aim, lens clarity, and the condition of the wiring and connectors. If the lenses are hazy or yellowed from UV exposure, a quality restoration kit can bring back clarity and improve light output. Replace bulbs in pairs to keep brightness and colour consistent, and avoid touching halogen glass with bare fingers—use gloves or a clean tissue to prevent hot spots that shorten bulb life.
- Check operation: low beam, high beam, parkers, and indicators at every service or WOF/RWC check.
- Inspect lenses for haze, cracks, or moisture
