Brake fluid is absolutely relevant to a 2009 Toyota Crown. Technical sources such as the Toyota Crown S200-series Owner’s Manual (2008–2012) and Toyota repair literature specify hydraulic brake fluid meeting FMVSS No.116 DOT 3 (SAE J1703), with DOT 4 acceptable where indicated on the reservoir cap.
