On a 2009 D‑MAX, the manifold gasket’s job is simple but critical: it seals the mating surfaces between the cylinder head and the intake or exhaust manifold. On the exhaust side, it keeps hot exhaust gases inside the manifold so the turbo spools properly and no fumes escape into the engine bay.
