2008 Subaru Impreza headlight bulbs
Headlight bulbs are absolutely fitted to the 2008 Subaru Impreza. According to the 2008 Impreza Owner’s Manual and Subaru service information, most models use halogen H11 low-beam and HB3/9005 high-beam bulbs, while some higher-spec variants (including certain WRX/STI trims) were offered with factory HID/Xenon low-beams using D2S bulbs. So yes—headlight bulbs are relevant on this model.
On a 2008 Impreza, the headlight bulbs do the heavy lifting after dark—providing safe forward lighting, helping with road-edge visibility and signage, and keeping the car visible to others. They’re a small part with a big job, and a fresh set can make night driving far less tiring.
When to think about replacement or service:
- One side looks dimmer, flickers, or has a different colour temperature.
- The light output feels weak in rain or on unlit roads.
- A bulb has blown, or the dash shows a bulb warning (where fitted).
Good maintenance goes a long way. Inspect headlight performance every 6–12 months, clean hazy lenses, and check for moisture inside the housings. Replace bulbs in pairs to keep brightness and colour matched. Stick to ADR-compliant bulbs in Australia and New Zealand, and avoid over-wattage bulbs that can overheat the housing or wiring. If your vehicle has factory HID (D2S), handle with care—HID systems run high voltage and should be serviced with the battery disconnected
