2007 Toyota Land Cruiser exterior-bulbs: what they do and how to look after them
Based on Toyota’s 2007 Land Cruiser Owner’s Manual and Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalogue for the 100/200-series transition era, this model absolutely uses exterior-bulbs (globes) throughout the vehicle. These include headlamps, front and rear indicators, parkers, tail and stop lamps, reverse lamps, fog lamps, side repeaters, and number plate lamps.
On a 2007 Land Cruiser, exterior-bulbs do the heavy lifting for visibility and compliance. They let the driver see and be seen, signalling braking, turning and the vehicle’s position to everyone else. That’s not just common sense, it’s also a requirement under Australian Design Rules and NZ roadworthiness standards.
As part of routine servicing, it’s worth doing a quick walk-around check of all exterior-bulbs every 6–12 months, and before big trips. Look for any lamps not illuminating, slow or hyper-flashing indicators, dim or pinkish headlamps, and moisture inside lenses. Clean lenses with a mild car wash solution
