2007 Nissan Navara centre-bearing

Technical sources confirm that a centre-bearing (also called a centre support or carrier bearing) is used on most 2007 Nissan Navara D40 variants sold in Australia and New Zealand. The Nissan Navara D40 factory service manual (Driveline/Propeller Shaft sections) depicts a two-piece propeller shaft with a centre support bearing for dual-cab and many 4x4/long-wheelbase models, and the Nissan Electronic Parts Catalogue lists a centre bearing assembly for these configurations (commonly in the 37521-EB000-series). Aftermarket catalogues from driveline specialists (e.g., Hardy Spicer, NSK/SKF) also list a centre support bearing for D40 (circa 2005–2015). Note: some short-wheelbase 2WD single-cab models use a one-piece tailshaft and therefore do not have a centre-bearing.

For a 2007 Navara with a two-piece tailshaft, the centre-bearing sits midway along the shaft, supporting the tailshaft and keeping driveline angles under control. It isolates vibration, stabilises the shaft under torque, and helps the ute stay smooth on take-off and at highway speed. Towing, heavy loads, lift kits, and out-of-phase tailshafts can accelerate wear in the bearing and its rubber mount.

Good servicing habits make a big difference. At each service, the centre-bearing should be inspected for torn rubber, sagging, or excess play
