Headlights for the 2007 Nissan Maxima
Headlights are absolutely fitted to the 2007 Nissan Maxima. This is confirmed by the Nissan Owner’s Manual and factory Service Manual for lighting, and also by Australian Design Rules and NZTA lighting requirements that mandate compliant front headlamps on road-going vehicles. Many 2007 Maxima variants use halogen lamps, while higher-spec models may feature factory Xenon HID low-beams, depending on trim and market.
On this Maxima, the headlights do the heavy lifting after dark and in poor weather—projecting a clear, legal beam pattern so the driver can see the road and be seen by others. Where fitted, HID systems offer a brighter, whiter low-beam with a sharp cutoff, while halogen setups are robust and easy to service. Either way, clean lenses, correct aim and healthy bulbs make a massive difference to night-time confidence and safety.
As part of regular servicing, it’s smart to add the headlights to the checklist. Every 10,000–15,000 km (or at least annually), give them a once-over under the bonnet and from in front of the car. Look for cloudy or yellowed lenses, moisture inside the housing, uneven beam pattern, or dim/colour-shifting output. On HID-equipped cars, a pink or purple hue often signals a failing capsule, while slow or intermittent start-up can suggest a ballast issue.
- Clean and protect: Wash lenses with car-safe soap and apply a UV protectant
